Description

This is a great low angle area if snow conditions are bad on your steeper objectives.

Park anywhere along the Richardson Highway between the Trims DOT camp and the Castner Creek bridge. Just South of MP 218 is a roughly cut trail helps you make your way through the dense alder and spruce to above treeline.. It may be steep at times and may require additional work to make it more user-friendly.

Pick your way up the trail until you break above treeline. It is possible, through careful route finding, to make it to the top of the ridge without exposing yourself to terrain steeper than 30 degrees.

Minimal terrain traps and hazards along with generally low angle slopes make this a great place to take beginner backcountry skiers (except for the trees down low (they suck!).

Skiers head up the skin track for another lap in springtime conditions. Even when avalanche conditions are high, this area has some great low angle skiing!

The trees are still holding snow! Good powder can still be enjoyed if you stay below treeline. A thin (0.5cm) crust is easily breakable. Great weekend

Trapper using the bottom section. Good snow in the trees, windblown and thin above trees. A bit bushy but still lots of fun. 3mi — 3h 00m
