Description

As simple as following the power lines "Pole Lines" - as they are situated along one of safest approach routes. (weather conditions permitting - ie wind loading & uphill instabilities)

Usually takes about 45minutes to climb, and 99% of the time there is at least one previously put in track.

From the top there are a lot of options: the most obvious, Cardiff Bowl (South E facing), around Cardiff peak to gain Superior's ridge line where you can drop off the South side of Superior to access: Hell Gate, Two Trees, Little Superior, Superior proper & Monte Cristo - also options to work towards Mineral Fork & the Mill B South Fork drainages . Or climb and drop off the North side of the ridge to access: Cardiac Bowl, Room of Doom, Ivory Flakes and work your way down Cardiff Fork toward Big Cottonwood.

On our way to Mount Superior. Some slick ice under the dusting from last night made for a couple of tricky spots. 1.5mi
