Overview

The first section of this pitch is amazing - the views are unrivaled and this concave slope tends to hold powder a little longer than most in the area. Plus, the additional approach length necessary to reach this line makes for fewer skiers and greater chances of getting some powder turns.

Need to Know

At approximately 37 degrees, this slope can (and does) see avalanches. Additionally, a cornice can form at the top of the ridge, so be careful not to venture too close to the edge until you're ready to drop in.

Description

From the top, enjoy the steep turns that sail you through (hopefully) awesome snow at high speed. Don't get carried away, however, as you'll need to keep this speed to push through a shallow spot. From there, you'll drop into the trees where you can truly choose your own adventure.

Once in the trees, be sure to watch out for fallen trees, rocks, and even a few creeks. I stayed generally in line with the creek drainage, obviously staying out of the creek itself.
