Description

This short tour located in the Kettle Range, is one of the most popular routes in the area, but is rarely ever crowded. The ascent starts on the PNW Trail, a short walk from the Sherman Pass parking area. A ski track follows the general location of the trail, then veers west toward a small bench, and pond.

Keep following the ski track west, to the shoulder, then follow it to the summit. From the summit, you can ski down to Sherman Pass, or continue to Snow Peak.

Snow conditions: Colder dryer snow than western areas, melt and freeze less common, but less total coverage. This route is best during mid-winter and windblown conditions possible.
