Description

The skin track always starts where the Continental Divide Trail intersects with Highway 50. From here, the skin track heads east (right) gaining the bench above the road cut and follows it until the ridge of Pass Bowl starts to taper off.

Now, start side-hilling and making a few switchbacks to gain the ridge. All ski descents start right off the skin track so scope your line before reaching the top. Sometimes you might find another skin track that starts side hilling earlier (right near the first open face is) and makes a few more kick turns. This track tends to be faster, but also throws a skin track right through the middle of some of the best open face shots.

Sometimes you might find a skin track that leaves the trailhead sign for the CDT to the left to gain another ridge which ends up having more switchbacks.
