Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
The higher side of the couloir is technically within park limits, and is closed for Winter. The couloir, therefore, should be climbed from inside rather than accessed from the ridge.
Need to Know
To ski this line, an overnight is required at the Mines Madeleine hut, in Le Roselin, or camping with the permission of the park. Take extreme caution with regards to the skiing and avalanche hazards.
Description
This descent is in the remote Mines Madeleine region of the Chic Chocs. Though the approach is long, the couloir is as gorgeous as it is steep. Dropping off the backside of Xalibu into the cirque below, you are surrounded by jagged cliffs and windswept vistas of the Mines and Mt. Albert.
