Description
Teghenis Mountain is located on the border of the Aragatsotn and Kotayk provinces. To access this ski line, you need to set off to Shoghakn village, which is covered by 1-2 meters of snow in January and February. The
Mount Teghenis: West Summit Ascent trail begins at the edge of the village and leads up to the nearby hill.
From the top of the mountain, you can admire the beautiful mountains of the Armenian plateau: the Pambak Mountain in the north, Mount Ara in the south, the Geghama Mountains in the east, Aragats in the West, and Ararat in the southwest. An aeration center operates on the top of Mount Teghenis, and is inhabited throughout the year. Once you are done enjoying the views from the summit, enjoy what is at first a steep but then more gradual descent on the slopes of Mount Teghenis which are covered with birches, firs, and Siberian pine trees. While skiing down, you may come across wolves and bears.
The best time to visit is from January to March. The mountain is located 2,751 m above sea level, and you'll want to plan about 5 hours for your round-trip journey.
