Description

This is the easiest route to access Lake Fork Peak from the Kachina Peak Main route. From Kachina Peak's summit, head south along a descending ridge to a saddle beneath a prominent rock feature. From here, the route is not definite and requires confident footing and route-finding skill; there is a primitive trail worn into the rocks that may or may not be visible depending on current snow conditions.

Begin climbing towards, then stay below and to the west of a steep pinnacle; find your way around this feature and climb the rugged terrain back to the ridge. Climb this ridge, at times staying to the west of some small outcrops and wind drifts, until you reach Lake Fork's summit at approximately 12,881'.
