Need to Know

This is Class 3 avalanche terrain.

Description

After a good snow year, this long avalanche path is skiable top to bottom. Most years a short ski from the summit is required. From Wheeler's summit, head to the southwest and follow the terrain as it rolls over a sub-ridge onto the broad southwest face. The terrain naturally flows into a gully then continues descending to the west, dropping below treeline as the path continues all the way into Williams Lake. Just below treeline, an alternate runout branches to skier's left and runs out onto wetlands south of the lake.
