Description
Approach this line by traversing high around Headwaters drainage, directly north of the Shoot the Moon start. A slight depression in the topography in the ridge ahead is the only telltale sign.
This is north-facing, narrow chute skiing that progressively steepens. Has some potential to slide at a rollover, near the end of the ride. It requires a manual to get out of there.
There are two ways to get out of here:
1) Exit out to the Palisades chairlift. This will be a traverse through a complicated, tight forest with a succession of gullies. Always stay as high and right, as you possibly can. It is extremely recommended you follow someone who's been there before as it is very easy to go too low and get lost.
2) You can skin to the west, into the next Sister drainage for a strenuous hike out. This will take you through a thicket of lodgepole pine to a rarely skied talus field and up a steep ramp back to the Headwaters area.
