Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Overview
Hike or skin your way to the top from the base of this old ski resort. You can go straight up and follow the main trail or work your way up the narrower, more overgrown trails to the left (when facing the mountain). Once you hit the old chairlift dismount area at the top, turn around and hit it!
Need to Know
This is private property; however, there are skin tracks all over the place.
Description
When you first get down Old Snow Valley Road, head through the open gate and find a place to park at the bottom of the hill. The road down to the base is a little steep, have your snow tires ready.
Simply skin up however you like and ski down.
When the conditions become soft in the spring, it can be hard to turn in the narrow sections, so beware of that.
History & Background
The resort used to be called Snow Valley Ski Area. It operated from 1939-1982. If you look online, you can find the old trail maps and still see the remnants today.
