Description

Pretty straightforward. Head south off of Rt 115 onto Cherry Mt. Rd. for three miles - it will end at a gate. Small parking area on left. Road is plowed to this point.

Skin up the road for about one mile to a flat area where you'll see a summer parking area on left. From here, ski the road back to your vehicle. This is a gentle slope all the way down and wide enough for novices to make turns and experience the backcountry with little commitment. You can also continue on the road skiing down the other side but you'll be poling a good portion of the way.

A better option if conditions allow (which was not the case today) is to skin up Cherry Mt. Tower Trail off on your right for three miles to the top of Mount Martha and return.

Snowmobiles do have access but does not appear to be heavily used. Very dog friendly.
