Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Road access to Mosquito Pass limited based on snowfall. Expect a long approach, snowmobile in, or early/late season access.
Overview
The eastern (slight NE) aspect of this couloir combined with the accessibility leads to a great early season line. The approach is straightforward and the payoff is a tight, narrow couloir with amazing views of Mt. Buckskin and the rest of the valley.
Need to Know
When coming up Mosquito Pass, be prepared to have chains (if it's even accessible).
Description
A short, narrow, and steep couloir. There are two sections of it, separated by a crux with a slight "S" in the middle. With limited snowfall, this can be quite tight but an anchor to repel through is placed on the N wall right as the crux begins.
Not only does this valley get snow dumped on it but it also turns into a sheet of ice due to the meltwater here.
History & Background
London Mine is a historical landmark of the area and many artifacts can be seen in the area.
