Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Description
The approach trail is best accessed from Alta. Park near the Snowpine Lodge and skin up the
False Flagstaff Approach ridge across from Alta. Once on the ridge, you can either drop into Silver Fork or continue to a pass between Days Fork and Silver Fork.
Once through the pass, traverse on the high side of the Days Fork side of the Days Fork and Silver Fork ridgeline. You'll hit an open field and this is when you drop. It's grueling on the way up but well worth it for the run.
This line is not well known and always has well-protected fluffy powder. After dropping the line, you can skin up and lap it or you can exit out either down Days Fork or up and over to Grizzly Gulch. Beware that this open field is an avalanche slide path and can be dangerous.
