Need to Know

The sun hits this aspect nearly the entire day. On deeper days around heavy snowfall be aware that the angle of the slope could result in slides.

Description

When driving past Camp Hale on Highway 24, one is able to see the short shots across the valley. If the snow is good, avy conditions are safe, and you've got an hour or two on your hands, these short shots are more than worth your time.

It is recommended to park at the main pull-out for Camp Hale. This is slightly farther north than the parking for the traditional approach to the Jackal Hut.
