Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Overview
Very fun, short but sweet line that drops you right back into the Arapahoe Lakes Basin. Usually a pretty sweet cornice at the top.
Need to Know
Wind is no joke. Also, cornice is no joke. If choosing to boot ensure that the overhead is manageable/not going to fall on you.
Description
From the Moffat Tunnel trailhead ascend the Arapahoe Lakes skin track. Once the basin is reached you can choose to skin up Frosty's or continue into the lookers right basin. If you skin Frosty's you can simply walk over to the top of the line and drop in. If you choose to ascend the lookers right drainage some boot packing will be in your future, be wary of the overhead hazard this area is prone to large cornices.
Once you gain the ridge the line is moderately straightforward. There is a great chockstone to build a quick anchor on if you need to kick a cornice and want to be on belay. The crux is entering the line, once this is complete enjoy some fun turns down.
After skiing the line cut skiers left around the lower lake to gain the slight saddle and return to the lower Arapahoe lakes drainage. Have a blast!
