Overview

A fun mix of open woodland skiing and expansive alpine slopes. This line descends through low angle slopes, giving you options for fun skiing even when snow conditions are sketchy. Stunning views of the Canwell Glacier and Delta River valley as well as the taller peaks to the west.

Need to Know

The lower wooded slopes are often home to moose and they can be ornery. Be mindful of the steeper terrain to the north and small terrain traps.

Description

From the top of Three Ptarmigan in a Trench Coat , descend generally along the route that you used to ascend the ridge. The upper slopes are open alpine with some wind lips. Be mindful along the rollover at the ridge edge, winds in the area can leave the snow thin here and rocks often poke through even with the deepest snow.

Aim for the large glacial erratic in the flat bench then drop through the open woods at the bottom of the run. Some patches of the woods are thicker than the others, so pick your line carefully.
