Skinner Hut
Overview
Tough to get to, but well worth visiting this incredible hut. The 10th Mountain Division Huts Association finished it in 1990 to honor William Wood Skinner, a 10th Mountain Division veteran. You may have to dig your way in to the front door, but the views to the east are worth it, including the 14,036-foot summit of Mount Sherman in the Mosquito Mountains.
Sleeps 16 in 3 small rooms with double beds, with additional 10 beds in communal sleeping area. Reserve through 10th Mountain Division Huts Association: huts.org
