Description

This is the prettiest and more secluded approach to Polar Star Inn. Since it doesn't follow roads, it can be harder to follow, especially there's new snow and no tracks to follow.

Start as per Yeoman Park to Polar Star Inn for the first half mile, but instead of turning left on Fulford Road, continue straight for another 0.7 miles. Find Newcomer Spring trail going up to the left and start climbing. After about a mile you'll cross Craig Peak Road. Go straight through it and enjoy the nice views and flatter terrain. Go one mile and gently descend to Nolan Creek. A gentle climb to the north and west will bring you to some cabin ruins and the intersection of Yeoman Park to Polar Star Inn, which you now follow to the hut.
