Description

After completing the Mount Ellis Ascent, pick your line down the wide-open, tree-less zone with the intent of exiting out the South fork of New World Gulch.

Descend through often tracked-out powder (popular line) zipping into tree'd shots toward the sides of the line for the fresh stuff. Practice safe leap-frogging with your partner to remain in earshot of each other. Toward the bottom of the run the trees thicken but you'll schuss your way through them until you reach the end.

The exit follows the summer New World Gulch trail and joins up with the Mount Ellis Ascent track at the junction of two drainages. The majority of the line can be skiied/ridden but a few short uphills exist so keep your poles at the ready for some pushing.

While descenting the steep slope, aim for the drainage aera, the lower part is hard and takes some route finding.
