Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Overview
II D3 R1
Need to Know
After the first big bowl, this route requires a trek uphill for a short distance to reach the top of the next good section.
Description
Start at the top and enter the obvious bowl to the east of the summit down good snow and modest angles. Once you're at the bottom of this slope, skins go back on for a short trek around the false summit and on to the next section of good ski terrain.
Take this second good slope to the northeast and through some fairly tight trees and to the road. Skin the road back to the parking lot.
This generally has low avalanche danger with modest angles.
History & Background
I was taught this line by a ski patrol worker from Breckenridge who I met on the summit. We told him that we where skinning our first 14er and he lead us through this great route.
