Description

Just north of the switchback where Hwy 550 crosses Coal Creek, the start to the Deer Creek skin track can typically be found. The start of the trail follows the Coal Creek trail, but then heads north and heads toward the top of the ridge.

From the top of the ridge, you can ski the north side of the ridge, which typically holds better snow in warm and sunny conditions. Alternatively, you can retrace the approach, which also makes for a quality descent.
