Overview

A tight, committing line that can hold good snow.

Need to Know

Park at the pulloff on the opposite side of the road from the upper parking lot for A-Basin. Skin up the gully and choose between the saddle or the ridge to the summit of Grizzly Peak.

Description

From the NW ridge of Grizzly Peak, this line is guarded by a large cornice that is tricky to negotiate. From below, it's an easy couloir climb, but remain aware of the cornice, which could flush you out if it ripped.

A broad snowfield funnels into a brief narrow choke, "The Wiggle." Barely wide enough for skis, it may require "straight-lining" it to get through the choke and onto the snow apron below the chute.

Really fun and holds good snow!
