Need to Know

Use the lifts or just hike it.

Description

This is an area that many utilize, though trail maps do warn of the hazards and lack of patrol. You are on your own here... It's a great last run ending right at the lot or just cut over sooner with a small hike back to lift territory.

There are a few ways to drop in. From the top, you can eye it up for the next drop, or slowly come in from the top of the magic mile, past the hut to a gnarly drop! Sheer face and all commitment. Avy danger is present, however a narrow chute makes for a getaway should you be mindful and have the speed to ascend the wall.

History & Background

Timberline likely used to utilize the terrain, but liability is what it is and this is a tight area with real hazards, but the seasoned skier can have lots of fun
