Description

The approach to Peak 8089 from the yurts is straightforward. Head east right from the front door of the yurts and then you gradually work to the south and east up a series of small ridges until you gain the main ridge that runs south. The peak will be the high point on this ridge. It will loom in front of you as you look to the south.

The only real trouble to watch for is the cornice, (in some places dangerously large) that follows the ridge to the peak. Give it plenty of room on the climb.

Because of the proximity to the yurts, the skin track to the ridge is usually well set and easy to follow, (unless you get one of those great central Idaho snow storms the night before). This access route gives you a large number of alternate descents.
