Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Description
This seldom visited area rewards the backcountry user with a perfect pitch and untouched snow. Access is incredibly direct and short.
From the parking area head East towards the cabin 100ft off the road. Pass the cabin and turn right on the old forest road. Continue up this road for 1 mile, passing one big open south facing bowl. Continue to almost the top on the road. If you reach the wide, flat meadow at the top, you'll want to turn around, as the best skiing is just to the southwest of you. The ski runs drop off anywhere on the road around that 1 mile marker.
From the top, ski down the gentle slope through the sparse trees and wind drifts. Just past the trees is a small cliff line and a steeper slope (careful for rocks hidden in the cliff line). Ski down the slope as far as you would like then make a new skin track back to the top for laps on laps on laps.
