Description

Access the trailhead from the end of Caribou Road, and begin your fairly mellow ascent. To begin, you'll follow a wide path that acts as a dirt road in the summer months.

Just shy of a mile, you'll start to diverge from the road and start to more directly move toward the summit of Klondike Mountain.

Top of Klondike facing north, towards the Arapahoe Peaks. Head this way, ride the saddle down keeping left if you want to ascend the opposite ridge on Bald Mtn, veering right to go back into the drainage (skin track back)

Good to go with recent snow.

Broke trail after the split to 'Caribou Approach'. Main path to saddle still has barely covered rocks. Skinned to R of path, was much smoother.

Still a few fruity pebbles that could tear up your skins or throw you over the handlebars if you're not careful. MUCH improved compared to a week ago. — 0h 30m

Firmly packed snow & dirt/rock patches for first 1.5 miles. Tricky wayfinding if you lose the established skin track due to low snow or low traffic.

Road is clear, snow was windblown but easy to ski
