Overview

This is an amazing run that offers steep slopes, drops for every level of skier, and an excellent tree run to the bottom of the gully. The top allows for access of all of the various features available in this run. There is a nice spot out of avalanche danger that we used to meet up and return to the top to make laps.

Description

One can also stay higher on the west ridgeline to have a steeper overall descent to the gully that takes you to Zimmerman Lake lot. Both lines will take you to the gully and have moderate slope with spacious trees on the way. The top section is black-diamond terrain but quickly turns into blue-black in the trees.

This area is amazing when there is some powder and offers a place to find less wind affected snow as compared to Hot Dog Bowl proper. This is definitely a steeper line than the rest of the bowl and has potential for small but dangerous avalanche conditions.

While skiing, remember to exercise proper backcountry awareness, take advantage of the good tester slopes on the ascent.
