Description

An exciting winter summit, the fields on the Northern Bowl of Electric Peak offer great skiing. There are two possible ascents to the peak, this line features the northern option via Beattie Gulch. Expect 4-8 hrs for the ascent.

Once in Paradise Valley, cross onto the old Yellowstone Trail Via the cinnabar bridge. The parking lot is small and on the right-hand side of the road as seen in the map.

In the early fall and possibly late spring, the first ~5 miles (2600 vert) of this ascent can be done on a bike which makes the trip more feasible in one day. Once the road reaches a prominent ridge top among a few FS cabins, stash the bikes and continue upward towards the ridge.

Travel on skins becomes difficult here as there is significant dead-fall through the burn field.

Once through the burn field, skinning is again possible as you travel up along the ridge line into the N. shoulder of electric bowl.
Once at the bowl ski, one could either push around the bowl for a summit or evaluate terrain for skiing.
