Use the Walton Peak Trailhead. This area is the last parking lot before the snowmobile area. Be warned—sometimes they venture in and track up the hill.
Description
This is a very mellow skin along a cross country ski trail. Keep heading south toward Walton Peak Communication Tower.
As you head up the ridge, at about 1.2 miles, start enjoying the lines you can take on the east slope, or the trees on the north. The south and west slopes will also reward you with some easy mellow lines.
Enjoy the skin in, because you'll get to enjoy the skin out also. It is just not very steep.
