Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Need to Know
Skin across the flat top of
Burnt Knob to the north. You have to feel your way around through the living trees 'til you find a short, shallow meadow.
Description
The ride down is through the meadow and some tight, low-angle trees. You just have to trust the center and right drainages to take you to one of the two chutes (chutes have the potential to slide). Both chutes will join together halfway down on a ramp. Then follow left until you find an opening to the talus below. Not a recommended run in low-snow years.
Hike back out up the talus slope. Then head east up a steep ramp, back to the RLM Headwaters drainage.
The other way out is to skin to the east from the bottom of the talus run. This will take you to the bottom of the
Temptress and use the complicated traverse back to the Palisades chairlift.
