Description

This ski mountaineering route is located in Aragatsotn province, which is 45 km far from the capital. The route starts from Aragats village and comes up to the Eastern Summit of the Mount on the Mount Aragats Eastern Summit Approach. The winter season in the area is ideal for ski mountaineering touring, with blue skies and the sunny weather on most days. On the way, you'll enjoy very beautiful views of Kotayk, Shirak, Lori, Gegharkunik provinces.

History & Background

Mount Aragats is considered the highest peak of Armenia (4090 m) with the 200 km diameter. In the past, Aragats was one of the largest volcanic formations in the world: the North Peak (4,090 m), West Peak (3,995 m), the East Peak (3908 m), and the South Peak (3887).
