Need to Know

This line is so named after bighorn sheep bones were found scattered across the bottom of the chute, likely the remains from a mountain lion's kill several years ago.

Description

This line's exposure and topography allows it to hold snow while one side often melts out. It's steep enough to be an avalanche path but is relatively short and can also provide an excellent uphill route to access the ridge above. Often windswept and affected by solar gain, snow conditions on this side are often hardpacked and slick.
