Overview

Awesome views of Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay! Good and steep ski; well-traveled so it's often safe.

Need to Know

The county closes the road during storms for snow removal and avy danger.

Description

After enjoying the vista, ski however you like down the fall line. Make sure to hit the obvious bench around halfway up the skin track, and then veer towards the car. Since the snow will often be wind-buffed and nice up top, the bench can be a good place to transition and hot lap the top.

Snowshoeing up was straightforward but hardMake sure you really gain speed for that flat part, I had to hike out. Great first backcountry experience!
