Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
There can be downed tree which haven't been cut. You'll have to go under or around.
Description
This is a nicer way to get off the road, cut miles and vertical or when the road is melted out. The trees protect from the wind. Another advantage from the road. This route is fairly simple to follow and starts at the wood fencing on the north side of the road.
The wood fence is at the large bend of the road before it starts climbing. About two miles from the road closure/parking area (Grant side). There is usually a well-defined skin track and there are some blue markers along the way. You'll have to duck under the fencing to get to it.
This is a quick way back going the same way you came up but be careful of people and dogs heading uphill.
