Need to Know

Yetis occasionally frequent this area, and are hungry for blood. Consider bringing a laser pistol for protection.

Description

The ridge dividing Kenny Bowl from Rocky Basin is quite spacious and ascends at a very comfortable and safe angle with very few obstacles in the way. The only thing you need to be wary of is the cornice line guarding entrance to the Rocky Basin area on skinner's right. Stay well away from the edge so as not to break a cornice.

Front and center is the Session's Peak Run: a beautiful line, and a beautiful face...

Your first view of Rocky Drainage (sometimes called Rocky Basin, but it's not really a basin.) The line I favored from the peak followed the drainage to the right side of the picture.

Black Crows should pay me. Here I'm ready to start skiing back down Session's Ridge. Sure glad I didn't have to walk this section. You can ski it all the way as far as is shown in the photo, and then some, before you have to finally boot the rest of it.

Skip ahead to 6:29 in the video to see Kenny Bowl. The video starts out in Wiley Hollow. It ends with a run down the pipeline. The whole video features a crappy skier, so just take it for whatever it's worth.

This is what the snow can be like if you catch Kenny Peak in good condition. Ignore the bad skiing.
