Description

The open snowfields surrounding Sphinx Mountain, The Helmet and Black Mountain. We camped under the Helmet and due to late spring potential avalanche danger and whoop sounding collapsable snow with a south facing aspect, we opted to ski from the edge of the snowfields down to the Sphinx Mt / Bear Creek NF Trail. 325 to stay on the safe side. Low profile of 30 degrees or so through open glades ending in meadows below.
