Overview

The elevation and aspect of this run lend itself to great conditions well into spring.

Need to Know

Watch out for snowmobiles that run rampant in the area. You'll likely see more snowmobile tracks than you can shake a stick at. It might be easier to avoid snowmobiles if you go to Rice Bowl.

Description

A short but rewarding run, this one drops off the south shoulder of Bountiful Peak toward the cabins of Farmington Canyon. The views of Bountiful Peak once you reach the bottom are well worth the descent. Once down, you'll notice several other ski objectives that drop off near the peak closer to its highest point, and that can be guarded by massive cornices. The most coveted line will be obvious--a terribly steep and narrow chute flanked by high cliff walls.

Once at the bottom, I decided to skin north and then ski something off the northern shoulder where can be found a great deal more moderate, but steeper terrain.
