A grueling bushwhack through miniature aspens leads to a decent ski descent from a low 13er.

Lots of bushwhacking.

Overview

II D6 R3
A cornice forms on top of a nice continuous gully, making for fun turns if you can handle the torture of seeing your line for hours before you even touch skin-able snow.

Need to Know

Start from Denny Creek TH.

Description

Turn right off CR 306 when it takes a sharp bend south, heading up into the trees. No matter how you go about it, you're going to have to bushwhack for about 1,500 ft. Climb above the cornice and make the peak (as it's a 13er, might as well get a summit out of the whole ordeal), then ski down what's hopefully wind-loaded powder back to treeline.

The peak's in sight and we're on good snow. Couldn't be happier.
