Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Need to Know
Little to no avalanche danger on the skied route or from overhead hazards, but a tricky ski during low visibility days due to a lack of distinctive landmarks.
Parking at Prevalla Pass gives you access to restaurants and bathrooms from the car. Restaurant at the Hotel Krojet is delicious and cheap!
Description
Park at the top of Prevalla Pass across from the restaurants. Cross the road on foot and hike to the rope tow where you can put on skis.
Set a skin track from under the rope tow to the meadow, paralleling the established road, and then from the meadow due south through the obvious opening in the trees. Gain the plateau below Prevalla's Rock, then contour climber's right / west to ascend the west side of the Prevalla's Rock ridge.
Once you gain the ridge, continue south on the ridge crest to the Guzhbaba cirque and skin ski down into the cirque.
Once in the cirque, continue west along the line of least resistance, keeping the obstacles and steep terrain to your left as you ascend towards Konjushka. Top out on Konjushka Peak and then retrace your path back down, enjoying the snow as you go.
