Description
Hike the
Lincoln Trail to Clark's Lookout for the ascent. Take the lookout trail for a great view before you head back down.
Start the main descent at the Lookout/Lincoln Trail fork. This first section is about a half-mile and contains the most technical portion which is the gully heading down to the creek. Steeper and narrow and if you do not stop in time you may get wet.
Once back on the logging road, the first 200 yards is the steepest grade. The logging road section is about 1 mile. The trail flattens out after the bridge. The rest is stair steps of gentle slopes and relatively flat sections. The last half mile is relatively flat but contains a good bit of obstacles consisting of narrow boulder passes.
History & Background
The Lincoln Trail is part of the SRKG (Sunapee Ragged Kearsarge Greenway).
