Type: Backcountry or Sidecountry
Overview
An alternative descent to the "
Caribou Glade Descent" page - this run is skiers right or directly ON the skin track and weaves through the trees. The best pow stays in the trees here as the intense winds of the Indian Peaks often turn skiers left of the skin track into horrendous wind-affected sastrugi.
Description
You'll be able to eyeball your best line while skinning up the
Caribou Approach. Anything left or center of the skin track holds great powder and any line you choose will drop you back to the mine cabin or the skin track back up.
Laps here are incredible and maybe 700-1,000', depending on snow coverage.
