Overview

This is the middle D9 ski descent of three east-facing lines off this peak.

Description

Take the Herman Gulch skin track to Herman Lake. Continue up either Pettingel or directly to Pt. 13,418. From the eastern ridge of Pt. 13,418, this line is the middle of three distinct east-facing couloirs dropping to the flats directly above Herman Lake.

If you ski the egress of this line in a SE direction, you can link this up with the Herman Lake Chute for back to back steep ski lines.

This is the steepest of the lines off Pt. 13,418, but there are at least 4-5 other lines that can be done off this peak, including the 3 east-facing gullies.

This is not only avalanche terrain, but these spring lines shed and leave avy paths regularly when temps rise. Mind the slough.
