Overview

This is a large bowl that has both open glades, trees, and includes all aspects. A great place for skiing laps.

Description

Use the Huntsman Ridge Approach off McClure Pass. Once you reach the top of the bowl, choose as many lines as you please, you'll have options to ski on almost all aspects, which is great for early or late season turns.

Please note that the Bears Gulch Gulley is a major terrain trap that is almost unavoidable in this zone. You'll need to be mindful of where you're ending your laps and end them short of this gulley.

Also remember that you'll have to climb back up the bowl - do not descend all the way down or you'll be in the Bears Gulch Gulley.

The Konsella's "Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Routes" guidebook is probably the best resource for this area.

There is also good intel at Backcountry Recon: backcountryrecon.com/colora…
